Veterans play their World Cup in Alicante

Table tennis lovers are lucky this month, since between 23 and 29 May is the XVIII World Veterans Table Tennis Championship (WVC). The competition will take place at the facilities of the Institución Ferial Alicantina (IFA).

A fantastic event for players over the age of 40 to showcase their qualities in this sport with over 4,500 participating table tennis players representing over 76 different nationalities.

The competition is divided into general categories of men’s, women’s and mixed doubles, and for each of these there are 9 categories in which players will register by age, from 40 years to over 90. In the doulas category there are no You have to meet this condition, as players of different ages can make a couple.

This XVIII edition contains two previously unpublished categories for table tennis veterans, those from 85 to 89 years old and those over 90 years old.

The games will take place in individual and double categories as well as 5 games and the Table Tennis Regulations of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), but for specific issues given, the rules of the Veterans World Championship will take precedence.

Tickets for spectators wishing to attend the event can be purchased at the competition center itself located in the Institución Ferial Alicantina (IFA). In addition, all participants, companions and fans will be able to enjoy activities and training in two meeting areas located in the Panoramis Shopping Center in Alicante and the Elche Conference Center.
